Calathea Orbifolia
The Calathea Orbifolia is one of the rare varieties and characterized by its large, fan shape leaves in a light green color, with beautiful silver-white stripes. Each leaf can grow to a size of 4"-9" inch. Calatheas originate from the tropics, natives to the amazonian rain forest. They are commonly known for their fascinating night time habit. They fold their leaves together at night, like raised hands in prayer, then opening up again during the day to follow the sun's movement. For this charming display, Calathea plants are also known as Prayer plants.
